Welcome letter from new Head of School James Gilroy
Dear Little Folks Families,
It’s been a pleasure to get settled in Little Folks during these past three weeks while camp has been in session. The laughter of kids splashing in the mini pool, the smells of cooking projects wafting from the kitchen, and watching the scientific exploration of volcanoes have been just a few highlights of my transition. It has been a privilege to get to know many families and students, and forge bonds with the amazing Little Folks teachers.
I look to this new role with excitement and energy. I am eager to continue the school’s great commitment to our youngest learners. The school’s philosophy and values rooted in play, arts, and educating the whole child have been apparent since my first visit more than six months ago. The mixed-age classrooms establish an atmosphere where students learn from one another, solve problems creatively and become collaborative learners. The Little Folks community is strong and vibrant, and one where strong bonds are formed between teacher and child and between home and school.
As the teachers, staff and I prepare for the school year ahead, we are committed to creating positive and engaging classrooms that support the tremendous growth that will occur over the course of the year. I look forward to leading and experiencing our amazing learning community in action.
