Programs

At Little Folks School, we have two distinct programs: our Tiny Folks Toddler Program and our Mixed Age Preschool Program.  The two programs differ by the age makeup of the children but many elements remain the same:
  • Both programs have an emphasis on play and the arts as a way to foster active exploration
  • Both programs emphasize building social skills and supporting the "whole child"
  • Materials in the classroom are age appropriate and educators meet each child where they are

Tiny Folks Toddler Program

Our Tiny Folks Program  is for students ages 18 months- 2.5 years of age at the start of the school year. Their classroom, fondly called "The Orange Room" consists of twelve students and three full time teachers. Their small ratio allows them to focus on all of the students' individualized and developing needs. LFS's youngest learners explore through sensory play, art experiences, music, and more! Curriculum in this class has a strong emphasis on building social emotional and independence skills with lots of time to play and explore!

Mixed Age Preschool Program

Our Mixed Age Program is made up of four classrooms: The Yellow Room, Blue Room, Purple Room and Red Room. Each of these classes is for students aged 2.5- 5 years of age at the start of the school year. Class sizes range from 12-17 students, each with two full time teachers.  Students typically stay in their class for the duration of their time with us at Little Folks School, sometimes spanning two or three years in their mixed age classroom. Children learn from their teachers but also from each other as they continually build their skills and abilities.
