Volunteer Opportunities

The Little Folks School exists today because of the commitment of current and past parents. The LFS community has been supported by the generosity of hundreds of families both in volunteering their time so their students and others like them can continue their growth.

Room Parents

We encourage as many parents as would like to volunteer as room parents, read below some of the responsibilities being a room parent means.

Overview of Room Parent Responsibilities:

Serve as a liaison and share information with parents in your room
Coordinate with teachers to provide classrooms with materials and seasonal decorations for holidays and craft projects
Participate in room parent virtual meetings
Encourage and motivate parents in your room to participate in activities or events
Work alongside other room parents for activities throughout the year, including but not limited to: Room Specific Cocktail Events, Halloween Parade, Food Drive, Holiday Bags, Fundraising, Valentine's Day Dance, New Family Welcome, Art Festival and Sale, Garden Party etc.

Parent Coffee Club

On the first and third Wednesday of each month there will be an informal coffee hour outside the Director’s office. This is an opportunity to meet parents from other classrooms and share a few moments of conversation. This is a welcome respite from busy schedules that we all enjoy. You can help by volunteering to provide refreshments. A sign-up sheet is posted on the bulletin board in the front hallway. One parent is asked to bring coffee, cream and juice and one parent is asked to bring bagels, pastry or fruit.
