Summer Camp 2025
Enrollment Begins Monday, January 13th at 10am
Little Folks has an exciting camp planned for students ages 18 months to six years old. This year we are offering three different options for campers based on their ages, interests, and physical stamina. In addition, there are four fun camp themes, sing-alongs, and special activities and guests! Little Folks will provide a pizza lunch for all full day campers every Friday. We look forward to welcoming our current, incoming, and alumni students as well as community children to Little Folks School Summer Camp!
Summer Camp Program Descriptions
Tiny Folks Toddler Camp:
This gentle introduction to school is for campers ages 18 months to 2.5 years old. Children engage in sensory activities, water play, and classroom explorations in a nurturing environment. The youngest campers participate in camp-wide activities as much as possible! Camp will occur daily at Little Folks School.
Little Folks Signature Summer Camp:
Children between the ages of 2.5 to 5 years old will have a blast in this arts-based summer camp. Children will engage in water activities, art explorations, music, and outdoor fun! Camp will occur daily at Little Folks School.
Outdoor Adventure Camp:
Children ages 3.5-6 years old* will explore nearby parks, trails, creeks, and learn all about the nature in our neighborhood! Campers will need to be able to walk up to two miles during the day and will be responsible for carrying their own backpack back to Little Folks. As much as possible, camp-wide art activities will be adapted to be done outdoors. Outdoor Adventure Camp is for FULL DAY campers only. Drop-off points may include Montrose Park, Rose Park, Dumbarton Oaks, and Glover Archbold Park. Drop-off points will be communicated in advance via email. Campers will return to the school building during the afternoon and pick-up will always occur at Little Folks School! In the case of inclement weather (rain, storms, or extreme heat), Outdoor Adventure Camp will take place in the Little Folks School building at 3247 Q Street NW. *Enrollment in outdoor adventure camp is at the discretion of LFS administration.

Optional Add On- LFS Afternoon Swimmers: Beginning Session 2
With parent permission, children ages 3.5 years and older will be able to swim at either Volta Park Pool (1555 34th Street NW) or Jelleff Pool (3265 S Street NW). Please note that this is an optional add-on to summer camp at LFS. Campers swimming at Volta Park must be enrolled in Full Day camp as Volta Park's pool does not open until 12pm. Campers swimming at Jelleff Pool will need to be able to walk to and from the pool from LFS (same distance as Montrose Park).
In order for your child to be able to go to the pool, they will need BOTH a signed Swimming Folks Waiver and a signed Swimming Folks Travel & Activity Authorization Form. All children will need to wear a floatation vest OR pass a lifeguard issued swim test. Vests are available at the pool or you may send in one from home (labelled). The required ratio for camp groups at the city pools is one adult per three children. At Little Folks, we plan to have more adults than the required minimum ratio. Please know that the safety of our campers is our number one priority! Our goal is for Swimming Folks to provide additional programming for our older campers and use the wonderful resources that surround our city school!
