We All Love Fall!
Last week the Orange Room was busy beginning their exploration of fall! As the weather gets cooler and the leaves change colors, Orange Room teachers Karen, Jules, and Yesun are sure not to miss learning opportunities with our youngest students! During art, students did marble painting with fall colors: green, orange, red, and yellow. Marble painting encourages students to use cross lateral movements and explore early physics concepts as the marble rolls through the paint from side to side. Bonus: it makes beautiful artwork too!
Students also used leaf stickers to make fall pictures. Did you know peeling stickers is a great way to build fine motor skills and concentration? The toddlers in the Orange Class were hard at work to peel the papers away from the stickers and place them on their papers. The class also read the book We’re Going on a Leaf Hunt by Steve Metzger and went to Volta Park where they saw lots of different kinds of leaves. The Orange Room students are continuing their exploration of fall this week and beyond!
As you walk outside, take time to appreciate the beautiful colors that surround you just like our youngest learners at Little Folks!
