This is Caitlin Williams’s second year teaching at Little Folks School, where she teaches in the Purple Room. Read on for more about Caitlin in our Staff Spotlight Interview:
What do you like best about teaching?
I’ve learned so much from collaborating with teachers from across the country. Being a teacher is a never-ending process of learning, reflecting and adapting.
Why did you decide to become a teacher?
I chose to become a teacher to better understand all types of children and their different styles of learning, as well as to better understand their varying cultures and backgrounds. Being a teacher gives me the ability to learn from children and families so that I can have a more rounded worldview and better serve my commuity.
What are you currently reading (or most recently read)?
I just finished ‘On Sal Mal Lane’ by Ru Freeman. I am currently reading ‘Inverting the Pyramid: The History of Soccer Tactics’ by Jonathan Wilson.
What are your plans for Winter Break?
What is your favorite food?
Nigiri. I try to stay away from meat but sushi and nigiri in particular is always a favorite.
