Admission
The Admissions process at the Little Folks School begins in the Fall prior to a child's enrollment. Admissions is a four step process initiated by the parent or guardian of the prospective child. Each phase of the Admissions process is considered an important part of the development of the relationship between the parents and the school. We strongly believe that parent teacher communication is vital to the success of a child's Nursery School experience and it begins with that initial inquiry. It is important to the staff of the Little Folks School that you have every opportunity to get to know us before your child becomes a part of our community. Never hesitate to contact the school with your questions.- INQUIRY: Typically the parent contacts the school for information about the admissions process. Information is exchanged and parents are invited to an Open House.
- OPEN HOUSE: These events are scheduled for the second Wednesday of each month at 1:00, beginning in October. Parents are given a tour of the school, written information about the program, and applications are available. The Director presents an overview of the program and there is a question and answer period.
- VISIT: Upon receipt of an application, the parents are scheduled to visit the school with their child. This is an opportunity for parents to see the program in operation, the purpose of the visit is not to evaluate the child. This is another opportunity for you to get to know us. Visits typically last 30 minutes.
- ADMISSIONS: Admission contracts are mailed in mid-March. Preference is given to siblings. Other considerations are given to the gender and age makeup of the classes. A Spring Garden Party is held each year to welcome new families to the Little Folks Community.
